OBITUARIES
Sherrie Dutton
Sherrie M. Dutton, 49, of Saginaw, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born October 20, 1958 in Cass City, the daughter of Howard and the late Beverly (Andress) Parker.
She married Clarence "Sam" Dutton May 23, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Sherrie loved to bake and was the former owner of Sherrie's Palate Pleasers in Saginaw.
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Clarence "Sam"; a son, Kyle Robert Waseleski of Burton; 2 step-daughters, Valerie Ann (JC) Dutton and Jennifer Lea (Christopher) Cork; 4 grandchildren and one angel on the way; 2 sisters: Susan (Ted) Booth and Julie (Michael) Albright, all of Wyandotte; and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mrs. Dutton's, wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Dutton family.

Joan Harbec
Joan "Polly" Harbec, 82, of Cass City, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 at her home.
She was born Dec. 2, 1925 in Mayville.
She married Frank Harbec Jan. 5, 1949 in Vassar. He passed away April 10, 2007.
Joan was a homemaker. She also worked at Walbro. Joan loved being with family and friends. She loved flowers, gardening, playing cards and crocheting. She was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge, the Polish American Club and the Tuscola County Democratic Party.
Joan was the loving mother of 2 children: Frederick (Tanya) Harbec of Naples, Fla., and Deborah Elliott of Cass City. She is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law: Fran Hrabec of Cass City and Betty Kelley of Kingston; and 4 grandsons: Ean, Bryar, Marshall and Cobi.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ruth (Gohs) Derry and Arthur (Vi) Kelley; 2 sisters: Jane Hunter and Irene King; a brother, Robert Kelley; and 3 step-brothers: Dean, Robert and Larry Morrison.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 12, at the Novesta Church of Christ, with Pastor Chuck Emmert officiating.
Clara Jones
Clara M. Jones, 87, of Cass City, formerly of Alpena, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008 at her daughter's home in Cass City.
She was born Jan. 30, 1921 in Alpena, the daughter of the late John and Anastasia (Kaszubowski) Timmreck.
She married Clarence Jones July 13, 1940 in Alpena. He passed away in December 2001.
Clara spent most of her life in Alpena. She retired after working many years at Owl Café in Alpena. She enjoyed crocheting and other crafts, and spending time with her doggie grandchild Tiffany.
Clara is survived by 2 daughters: Joyce Januchowski and Marcia Jones, both of Cass City; 2 brothers: Henry Timmreck of Benzonia and Vern Timmreck of Alpena; a grandson, Brain (Mary) Jones of Caro, 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Jones; 3 sisters; and 3 brothers.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 30, at Thabet Funeral Home, Cass City, with Pastor Jay Barsejeau of First Baptist Church of Bad Axe officiating. Cremation will follow at Sunset Valley Crematory, Bay City.
Memorials may be made to Home and Hospice Advantage, Cass City.
Arrangements were made by Thabet Funeral Home, Cass City.
Dorothy Powell
Dorothy Powell, 85, of Cass City, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at her son's residence.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1922 at Pontiac.
The former Dorothy Hudson married Theodore A. Powell May 29, 1948 in Mayville. He preceded her in death Aug. 6, 2002.
The Powell's lived in Pontiac and returned to Cass City in 1967. Dorothy was a devoted mother and homemaker with most of her interest centering around those activities.
She is survived by her children: Robert (Shirley) Lipe of Caro, Darrold (Sandra) Lipe of Cass City, Jerry (Dianne) Lipe of Caro, and Theodore R. (Debra) Powell of Kingston; a daughter-in-law, Donna Gibson of Cass City; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Joyce)
Hudson of Pontiac; 2 sisters: Sharon (Kenny) Smith of Goodrich and Arlene Cooper of Davison; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Denny Gibson; a great-grandson, Stevie Hughes; a daughter, Donna Leone Lipe; and a brother, Bill Hudson.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 2, at Collon Funeral Home, Caro, with Pastor Phil Whipple officiating.
Burial was in the Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
