WORK IS UNDERWAY west of Cass City, where contractors began the process early last week of replacing the bridge over the Center B drain. The $740,000 project is expected to be completed in August.

CINDY OPANASENKO of Cass City recently donated 12 inches of her hair to "Locks of Love", a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under the age of 18 who are suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Opanasenko's hair was cut and styled at Jodi's Country Hair Salon, Cass City.

"OLYMPIC ATHLETES" gathered Saturday at Rawson Memorial District Library, which hosted one of its "You Can't Do That at the Library" events. The activities included a torch relay, Olympic Pictionary and a triathlon.

SHELLEY deBeaubien was one of the many successful turkey hunters in Tuscola County. The Cass City resident's first tom had a 9" beard and 1" spurs.
