Academic Games 
teams dominate

   Cass City High School students dominated the competition during the annual Tuscola County Academic Games competition held recently at Saginaw Valley State University, where they competed in testing and group projects in 5 different areas.
  Cass City's teams claimed first place in the math, English and technology categories, and clinched second place in science and social studies.
  In all, 6 schools competed, with Caro and Vassar taking second and third places, respectively, in math. Caro finished first and USA third in science, Vassar and Caro placed second and third in English, USA was the winner and Mayville was third in social studies, and Mayville and USA took second and third place, respectively, in technology.
  Jim Green, one of the Cass City Academic Games coaches, said it was the strongest finish for the Red Hawks in recent memory.

THE ENGLISH team was composed of (front row, left) Ashlee Spencer, Ashley Deel, Alyssa Nicol, (back row, left) Kelsey Rudy, Shane Brandmair and C.J. Warmbier.

SOCIAL STUDIES team members are (front row, left) Trey Helwig, Maddie Dooley, Kelli Lautner, (back row, left) Evan Bushong, Jeff Sparks and Rob Packard.

THE SCIENCE team was composed of (front row, left) Ethan Damm, Rochelle Rushlow, Stephanie Healy, (back row, left) Andrew Deering, Jacob Ballard and Norbert Linko. Missing is Zach Hopper.
